      Although comprising only seven percent of the total land mass of Italy, the region known as Tuscany is the best known and most popular region and the destination of the majority of visitors from around the world.  The appeal to visitors is  the vast accumulation of art objects, (architecture, paintings and statuary,) artifacts of a life now long gone, a delightful climate - and then there is the food.
      Surrounded and crossed by major mountain chains, and with few (but very fertile) plains, the region has a relief that is dominated by hilly country where agriculture is a leading industry.
      Simplicity is central to the Tuscan cuisine. The subsoil in Tuscany, relatively rich in mineral resources, lends a special flavor to each grain and vegetable crop; and the cheeses made from the milk produced there has a special flavor to be found only in limited areas of the world.

USES
      Great for all pasta dishes and sauces, but also is terrific on chicken, lamb, fish, pork, and turkey.
      Adds flavor to soups to enhance their flavor. (especially tomato)
      Boost the flavor of all your pasta by dissolving 2 chicken bullion cubes and adding a tablespoon of Taste of Tuscany
to your boiling water before adding the pasta.
